The purpose of the meeting is to facilitate the exchange of information between the photonics component and system suppliers and integrators of the Aerospace, Security and Defence industry. Based on an examination of subjects proposed by technology-integrators, technologies in the following technical fields will be presented: Active Imaging, Hyperspectral, Improved Degraded Visual Environment.

EPIC B2B Meeting Concept – Component and system suppliers from small/medium/large companies who have a new or innovative technological solution present their technologies to integrators who seek specific capabilities and performance. The technologies presented should be innovative and new and ready for integration into a final system. Integrators will briefly present their needs and requirements in the field of Photonics. Participants will have ample opportunities to network and be able to discuss business and technology details during the event. The EPIC B2B Meeting accelerates the presence in the market of key competitive technologies.

Technical Visit

The opportunity to visit SOLEIL Synchrotron is proposed to OPTRO 2016 delegates, the day after the end of the Symposium, on February 5th.
Both a research laboratory and a very high-level scientific resource serving thousands of users, SOLEIL Synchrotron has a double vocation: to make the highest-performing experimental facilities in the world available to its users, and to develop cutting-edge internal scientific research activity around the synchrotron beam..


SOLEIL Synchrotron, inaugurated on December 18, 2006, brings together the whole of the French and International scientific community. It required five years to bring this very high-tech and up to date equipment, installed on the “Plateau de Saclay” (20 km SW from Paris) at the heart of a very high-level scientific environment. Now, the facility is open to users, researchers in various disciplines looking for the highest-performing techniques to access to the intimate geometry of the material, as well as its chemical, magnetic, and electric properties.


The visit will include:

  • A presentation of infrared light instrumentation examples, by the SMIS Light Unit Manager.
  • A specific optical review at SOLEIL Synchrotron.
  • The développements in SOLEIL, in terms of detectors, by Detector Group Leader.
  • A guided visit in the synchrotron to discover the installations and light lines

The technical visit is available to the Conference Delegates at the additional cost of 50€.
The tour includes coach transfers and lunch.
